How To Mend Your Broken Heart

Take a deep breath. Your home is still beautiful (just a little moody right now).

Confirm the defect is covered under warranty. Review your 2-10 warranty manual (the one that came with your home or download it below). Make sure the issue is covered and calls for repair. No heartbreak over non-warranty items, please.

An emergency is defined as a situation that poses:

  • A substantial risk of serious damage to your home, or

  • A substantial risk of injury to you or your household — if not immediately addressed.

What To Do

Stop the issue (if safe to do so). Take immediate action to protect your home and yourself. Shut off water, power, or gas if needed.

Contact the trade directly. Use the subcontractor contact list provided with your New Home Orientation (NHO) documents to call the appropriate trade and report the issue.

Document everything. Take photos, keep notes, and save all communication with the trades for your records.

Notify Heart Built Homes. Submit the emergency claim using the form below. We'll follow up as soon as possible during business hours.

Workmanship

Quality is important, especially in your new home. Your workmanship warranty establishes the standards applicable to the fit, finish and materials used in the construction of your home.
